Cuppy encourages youths to vote at voters’ conference

Entertainer and daughter to billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, Florence, aka Cuppy, has advised youths to be fully involved in the political process by casting their votes. Cuppy was recently invited as a special guest for a Student Voters Conference in Lagos. The event was sponsored by The Cuppy Foundation, and hosted by Youth4Nigeria, in partnership with Global Shapers Community. According to a statement sent to Merrymakers, it is geared towards raising awareness for the upcoming elections in 2023 and sensitising young Nigerians about the roles they have to play. In her speech at the event, Cuppy noted that she is passionate about facilitating a permanent voters’ card drive to create awareness and encourage young Nigerians of voting age to get their permanent voters cards and fulfil their civic responsibilities. She added, “My mission here today is simply to inspire you all and that in turn you will inspire or encourage others to get registered, get their PVCs, and actually vote.” Other speakers at the event were Oludamilare Adesola, Co-founder at Youth4Nigeria, Wisdom Chapp-Jumbo, Co-lead, Equity & Inclusion at Global Shapers Community, and Amarachukwu Nwokokoro, Program Representative at We Vote Nigeria.
